MC and audio engineer Open Mic Castlemaine has been running in some form or another since the 1990s. It was handed down to me in 2019, and included Live from the Goldfields, a livestream tv show of local music that began as a response to Covid lockdowns and ran weekly until 2024. It currently runs every Thursday night at Shedshaker Taproom
Taradale Mineral Springs Festival
Audio engineer Since 2009, the Taradale Mineral Springs Festival has become a major feature on the Central Victorian calendar for the Labour Day long weekend. Attractions include live music on stage all day, a huge variety of stalls offering a wide range of food, wine, craft beer and spirits, local artisans, a CFA display and children’s activities including face painting and storytelling.
Harcourt Gather and Applefest
Audio engineer Applefest is a celebration of harvest time in the heart of Victoria’s apple country and has evolved into a big event that welcomes an increasing number of visitors from near and far. The festival includes:
- local producers in the Applefest Market
- entertainment at the main stage
- crowning of the annual Royalty of Applefest
- competitions and shows including Art, Baking and Lego
- the messy and entertaining Apple pie eating contest!
Castlemaine Idyll
Kids karaoke host and audio tech Castlemaine Idyll is a big, joy-filled celebration of the enduring power of community and song - as well as the major fundraiser for local arts hub, Lot 19. Backed by the Castlemaine Idyll Band, local musicians, emerging performers and people next door perform more than 30 songs selected from a theme each March. The Kids Karaoke segment began in 2024, delivering a lineup of brave, talented, applause-inducing performances from a bunch of young Castlemainians.

2025 festival hub audio tech and stage manager 2011 festival director 2010 - 2016 secretary / chair The Fringe Thing Inc (Castlemaine Fringe Festival) was established in 1992 with the specific goals to:
- Encourage alternative and local musical, performing and visual arts in the Central Victorian Region
- Provide community access to a diverse range of cultural and artistic experiences
- Promote opportunities for musicians, performers and artists to perform or exhibit
- Enhance the health, welfare and wellbeing of our community through engagement in cultural and artistic experiences
Main FM 94.9
Audio engineering, recording production, scripting, editing Radio host 2009 - present 2014 Station manager Main FM is a community radio station which broadcasts on 94.9MHz from its studios in Halford Street, Castlemaine. Scott has been involved in all aspects of station presentation, production and administation at some time since 2009, including his current programme, My 12 Inch disc, Tuesdays at 7:30am AEST. Taradale Beach Party
Karaoke host and audio tech The Taradale Beach Party is an annual karaoke and cocktail party run every February by Taradale Wine and Produce.
