What’s on GlueTube? was conceived and developed by students in music classes at Castlemaine Primary School in 2024, under the direction of Scott Sanders.
Just what is keeping your kids locked to their screens? This was a question discussed in classes, with a list made of around 200 favourite clips, memes and animation. Many of these performances are interpretations of actual meme/viral videos that are just as popular as any professional pop video.
Video on the internet has become an art form, as well as a commercial craft. As internet technology increased to be able to stream video live, what started as self-publishing original music on MySpace has become an overwhelming collection of:
- personal stories
- passive incomes
- lures to acquire personal information
- an outlet for special interests
- an opportunity for fame
The internet is the most real, and the most unreal, and the most surreal. And I hope we’ve captured that in What’s on GlueTube?
